The Southborough have always promoted the event on the Bethersden
course (Q10.10) - its what we would call a 'sporting/scenic' course but
somehow that doesn't seem to matter. The prizes have always been of the
festive variety of wine, beers, chocolates, biscuits and cycling related books
and paraphernalia so it just goes to prove that it is not always necessary
to offer huge prizes to attract the riders. All riders are encouraged to
stay in the hall after the event to take their hard earned prizes home
afterwards, which clearly benefits the tea bar sales as well.

This years event was won by Conal Yates with a 21.42 while Bronwen
Ewing was the fastest lady in 24.42 (ladies course record).
