No report received for the Old Members “10” or the Open “25”.

How ever you will have seen from the results on page 5&6 that we had a
very good turn out for the “10” followed by breakfast at the Park Inn.

Over 30 of us sat down for the breakfast and later I received mail from Val
who thought this must be a record, but I was able to tell her that following
the OM “10” in 1967 that there were over 50 of us at breakfast.

I remember this event well as I was talked into riding not having raced since
1954 (don’t ask what time I did but I was not last) I can’t even remember
where I got a bike from and did not do any training.

London Cyclo-Cross Summer Series 5

Another cracking nights racing last night in the late evening sun at Herne
Hill – a HUGE field with a slightly shorter race to give time for prize
presentations at the end of the night to the winners on the night and
the series winners in all categories – U12, Youth, Woman, Vets, Men and
team prizes. And the prizes were amazing – the U12 won a brand new
cyclo-cross bike, the mens series winner won a £1000 holiday

We had a few club mates out to watch - Mick & Debbie, Bill, Dan, Jayne,
Nigel, me and we had De Laune club member Nick Kinsey to cheer on who
I think came 2nd in the Vets series and to top it all off we had Bill up on
the podium spraying the crowd with Champers as the HH youth won the
team prize

This really was a fantastic series of races to watch and I’ll be looking out
for this again next year for sure.
