The staple diet of De Laune riders is the South East Road
Race League (SERRL), with races on most weekends throughout
the summer on the roads of Kent. Racing is for all senior and junior categories,
with distances of 50-70 miles. The club pays the riders entry fees,
through it's sponsorship agreement with Evans Cycles, making this an excellent
and economical way to learn the art of road racing. The SERRL has a reciprocal membership agreement with the Surrey League, making a huge number of road races available throughout the South East for De Laune members. The Eastway circuit in Stratford, East London, is a great place for those new to bunch racing. The purpose-built 1 mile closed circuit hosts races every Thursday evening throughout the Summer and most weekends, these 20-30 milers perhaps being less daunting for those dipping their toes in for the first time. Crystal Palace Park has racing on Tuesday evenings during the Summer, this fast, technical circuit demanding total concentration and total commitment, but giving great satisfaction once you've mastered it! The Club also promote one of the crystal Palace events.... Wherever you choose to race in and around London, you will find the De Laune, giving it everything, but with a smile!
