We had a very successful working relationship Jack retired in 1989 and I
continued until 1995 when I sold both the building and electrical companies,
unfortunately they only survived for 10 months (Woodward’s had been
founded in 1830).
I married Marjorie another Brixton baby in 1961, we have two sons Paul and
Jason and we are expectant grand parents for the first time, twins being
due at about the end of March. Marjorie is President of the Warlingham
Women Institute (afternoon), and I am an honorary member of the Rotary
Club of Brixton, which I joined in 1969. I was president of the Rotary club
1976/77 which was it Golden Jubilee year and the Queen Silver Year, I sent
her greeting and she sent me back a telegram so I won’t have to wait for it
till I am 100.
My interests now, I am a member of Chartham Park Golf Club and was their
captain for three years, try to play golf two or three times a week, I produce
a monthly magazine for the De Laune Cycling Club of which I have been a
member for over 50 years. I enjoy my garden, travelling and do a little wood
turning to pass the time when I’m not sat a my computer.
