It was really nice to welcome a new member at Monday’s AGM – Richard
Balfe of Balfe’s Bikes. Chairman Roy rattled us through the agenda in an
hour, and we voted through a couple of rule changes:

1. To adopt an Equality and Diversity Policy for the Club.

2. To remove from the Club Rules (but not delete) the Rules of Racing.

While these provide a good historical record for the Club, many of
them refer to competitions we haven’t held in the entire time I’ve
been a Club member (30 years). As they were in the General Rules
they needed an AGM to amend any wording, but as there was so
much wording we never bothered, else the AGM would become an

all-nighter. This way we can bring them up to date much more easily
and keep them relevant.

And talking about keeping it relevant, top marks to Mike Peel for posting a
picture of a young and upcoming rider on the front of the website. What’s
more, he’s engaging in my favourite discipline. More please!
