A colleagues local cricket club in Yorkshire plan to offset the disappointment of not being able to play during the Tour de France Grand Depart by using their facilities near the route to generate a bit of income by providing a campsite with nearby parking for the weekend - details on the attached link. Steeton Cricket Club website: camping.steeton.cc/ Excerpt from website: Camping at Steeton - Friday 4th July to Sunday 6th July Steeton Cricket Club has created a fully equipped pop up campsite specifically for the Tour de France Grand Départ, offering guest a well equipped, warm friendly base from which to base themselves over the weekend of Friday 4th July to Sunday 6th July. The campsite is ideally located for those who seek mobility during the Grand Départ weekend, as the campsite is just 4 miles from the nearest point of Stage 1 proceedings, and only ½ mile from Stage 2 proceedings (within viewing distance). Unlike other campsites, the roads within the village of Steeton will remain open throughout the weekend for those wishing to follow the Tour after it has passed, or those wanting to explore the local area.
