Photographs received from Brian Saxton on the day of this year's Open 25
(Fred Peachey Memorial) certainly brought back happy memories from 29th
July 1973. One photograph showed De Laune riders in their heyday when
we had the winner of the event
Tony Peachey 1st with a 59.12 (featured with hair !)
Mick Hartley in 2nd place with 59.51 (slightly slimmer than today !)
Jeff Valentine in 5th place with 1.2.19 (brother of Mike & Steve)
These three riders also took the first team award.
All riders were featured in 'civilian' clothes except Tony in cycling gear, clearly
ready to ride home to Maidstone from the Portsmouth Road (Wisley).
