PS: Paul had informed me by e-mail that no address had been given on the
Hetchins shop order, which was a pity. Paul’s father, Brian, had been a
member of the Polhill RC. I was reluctant to remind him that Alan Jackson,
who was a member of the De Laune, won a bronze medal in the Olympic Road
Race in Melbourne, Australia, in 1956, also picking up the silver for the team,
whereas Ronnie Biggs, a member of the Great Train Robbers’ team, had been
a member of the Polhill! {There is a photograph on the Polhill RC website of
Les Wade and Ronnie Biggs riding a two-up time trial!}.

Bruce Renolds another of the GTR team was also a cyclist. Ed.
