CLUB NIGHT
SECOND MONDAY
OF EACH MONTH 1889 DE LAUNE 2013
CYCLING CLUB

PRESIDENT
MALCOLM ADAMS th
28 Landon Road On the 5 November 20 plus
Herne Bay members attended Bill Mile’s funeral
Kent to say goodbye, and Roy made a fine
CT6 6HP tribute to Bill entitled ‘The Dash’, in
01227 373045
which there were some thought
CHAIRMAN provoking observations. Bill’s Dash lasted 101 years,
ROY SAVERY now it is Goodbye to a dear club friend.
We also lost another good friend, Brian Waller this
SECRETARY year, both he and Bill were Gold Badge of Honour
VACANT
TONY PEACHEY
63 Beverley Road holders, our highest award for outstanding service
Barming to the club and we held a minutes silence at the
Maidstone Belgium Night in their honour. They will be sadly
KENT ME16 9DU missed by all who knew them.
01622 727649
There were 25 members and wives attending our
TREASURER annual Memorial Service at Newnham in which Roy
VAL PEACHEY gave the sermon. After the service we went outside
63Beverley Road and I placed the wreath beneath the Memorial tablet,
Barming after reading out the names of the club members
Maidstone
Kent ME16 9DU who gave their lives in the First and Second World
01622 727649 Wars. Then back inside the church for refreshments
kindly prepared by the ladies of the church. We then
MEMBERSHIP went over the road to the George Inn for lunch and
DAVID HAGGART
388 Elmers End Road a social chat as is our club’s tradition for over 90
Beckenham years.
Kent, BR3 3HG Sadly each year we seem to be diminishing in
0208 658 7419 numbers and I feel that those who lost their lives
deserve a greater thanks than the club is giving at
present. The older members of the club do their best
