I only took up cycling in May last year following prompting from a friend to
buy a bike. Shortly afterwards I spotted a sign for "London Bikeathon", on
investigating it was a 52 miles charity ride in the August in aid of leukaemia
research and decided this was something I would do as my father had died
in the January from AML, a severe and aggressive form of leukaemia.
He was diagnosed on Friday and died on the Tuesday morning. Prior to that
he was a very fit 91 year old who spent most of his time gardening. I completed
the ride having undertaken a training program which got me hooked on cycling.
Having got hooked on cycling, I then decided to join a cycling club, and found
