                                            Hi All,
61a Burns House What an awesome evening at the
    Kennington Peckham Liberal Club last
SE17 3SX Thursday! The Grand Prix de
020 7735 9605 Peckham roller contest was huge
                                            fun. I’ve never seen the
CHAIRMAN Rollapaluza 4-up rig in action before – I’ve only ever
ROY SAVERY seen it with 2 riders. Their electronic timing system
01959 777455 is a massive improvement on the times when Ron
Beckett and I used to try and press the buttons on
SECRETARY our stopwatches at the same time, and to have 4
JEREMY WHITE riders at once makes the racing much more versatile.

TREASURER There was a 4-up 500m time trial, a Madison
VAL PEACHEY competition, a Devil, and also Winouts (the reverse
63 Beverley Road of a Devil in which the first past the line on Lap 1 is

Barming the winner, 2nd place is the winner of the 2nd lap and so
Maidstone on). There were two glorious De Laune teams, each
Kent ME16 9DU of which featured a World Championship medal winner.
01622 727649 It was pointed out during the evening that the
combined age of the Herne Hill Velodrome youth team
MEMBERSHIP was younger than Alan Rowe – though to be fair they
DAVID HAGGART were also younger than Mick Valentine too! It seems
388 Elmers End Road to me that this speaks volumes about the older
generation who are still going strong and we should
Beckenham really be shouting about this.
