What is interesting is not just what they have done to the building, but also
what they haven’t – they have now bought the driveway next door and built
a narrow house on the front of the plot, while opening up the back as a garden
for them.

What they haven’t done, is very much to the old kitchen. Apart from the new
doorway into the garden, the old kitchen is almost exactly how it was, with
the same cupboards, sink and serving hatch. The Rendalls will be pleased to
show people round if you’d like to go.
Their eldest daughter is now 8, and needing cycling lessons. They thought it
a bit of an irony that she should live in an old cycling club and not be able to
ride yet. We made some progress but I’ll need to go back again. I’m looking
forward to it.
