Secretary’s Report

The following notes are purely a précis of discussions at the October
Committee meeting and are intended to keep all members informed of what
is happening on committee and how the club is being run.

The last meeting was a Special General Meeting – the purpose of this
meeting was to decide on the colour and design of the club kit which is to
be registered with British Cycling.

The turnout was good – 22 members with 14 apologies for absence. After
consideration the outcome was to adopt the new design which has been
featured on the website. The Giordana kit can still be used for time
trialling and leisure riding – anyone wishing to ride BC promoted events in
2014 must ride the new design. There was some suggestion that we might
be able to register both kits but that is not clear at the moment.

Once this meeting had been closed an impromptu committee meeting took
place to get an update on the progress of the forthcoming organised
rd
clubruns – the first of which will be on 3 November starting from Geoffrey
Butlers shop in Croydon. Everyone was reminded that if they wanted to
join the first of the month rides they must let Jayne/Juliet know. It was
also pointed out that these rides are going to be clubruns not training
rides. Generally feedback was good.

We agreed to continue booking Dulwich College for our bi-monthly meetings,
it was also agreed that the AGM would be held in March 2014.

It is with regret that Bill Miles passed away on 13 October whilst in
th
hospital. The news was received via a niece of Bill. All arrangements
for the funeral are currently being processed by the solicitor and to date
no further details are available, when they are I will circulate as widely as
possible. As many members will know Bill was our oldest member at
101 (though in birthday party terms he was only 25½ as he was born on
29 February).
