From the Treasury

The club funds remain in a healthy situation full club accounts will be
presented at the AGM in March, 2014. All affiliations for 2014 have been
met except South East Road Race Leaque who have yet to communicate
to me the subscription fee.

Some 21 members attended the funeral service for Bill Miles at Beckenham
Crematorium on 5th November. A donation was sent to St. Christophers'
Hospice instead of the traditional club wreath, at the request of Bill.

Subscriptions appear to be stable this year together with donation levels.
In fact an envelope was 'forced' into my hand at Newnham from one of the
elder statesmen of the club - this envelope contained £50 - this a member
who takes nothing from the club except the DLN but, although not in the
rudest of health, will willingly come out and help at both our open events
and club event. So many thanks to all members who feel they would like
to place a donation to support the club - a full list of contributors
throughout the year, will feature next month. On this subject 2014
subscriptions will be required within the next few weeks, so once again Dave
will be chasing you for your subs which will remain unaltered for 2014 we
just need your money promptly - this does save time, money and effort in
the long run.

Newnham was again a great success on a mizzly autumn morning, though
some members were delayed as a consequence of a fatal accident between
a small car and tractor on the very windy lane dropping into Doddington.
The road was still closed at 3pm when we were ready to return home so the
alternative, much windier route was taken, which brought us out in the lane
running down the side of Harrietsham Village Hall. Not really recommended
under normal circumstances !! Malcolm had ensured the word was
spread of the annual meet - I think the 25 attendees enjoyed the welcoming
service in the church and the equally welcoming reception in The George
before and after. My thanks to Dave King for organising the Poppy wreath
resplendent with the club badge in the centre.
