new venue for Club meetings was found at the Camber Lawn Tennis Club,
Dulwich.

Club clothing prices were reduced to 50% for club members. Equipment
had been stolen from some of the new track bikes stored at Herne Hill.
8 members enjoyed a 'park & ride' clubrun in the weald of Kent organised
by Kav, subsequent runs were combined with Reliability Rides once again -
17 turning out for the KCA event. A story remembered by Kav and printed
in the DLN recalled riding Nat 25 with Roy Chittleboro & Alan Rowe in Lincoln
some years back after which they decided to ride 150 mls home as training,
however with only 50 mls covered they were so tired they thumbed a lift
from a lorry driver, feeling sorry for them the driver agreed, they piled in
the back of the lorry with their bikes & promptly fell asleep. They ended
up back at Lincoln - should have got the miles in !! Charlotte Carter-Smith
was the youngest ever female competitor in the OMA 10 at the age of 14,

The Committee allocated £1,000 towards the Tour of Sussex to gain
publicity via programmes etc raising the club's profile. Unfortunately all
we gained was the club web address shown in extremely small print on some
of the racing vests, no letter of thanks was received either from the
organisers or Crawley Wheelers to whom the cheque had been made payable.
The Open 25 was cancelled due to the course being flooded after heavy
overnight rain. Club track champs were run in conjunction with the
Addiscombe. The Crystal Palace circuit event organised by Mike Peel,
suffered the same fate of the 25 after a torrential downpour made the
surface of the course treacherous. The LVRC RR ,promoted by Roy Savery
for a number of years, was dedicated as Ken Fuller Memorial. Tour de
France started in London. Jayne 'filled us in' with her exploits of Sportive,
Etape and road racing throughout the year - felt exhausted just reading
of her epic rides. She also won Cycle Film Trophy Series of events for ladies.
Brian Dacey notched up 4 golds and a silver at the Masters Track Champs,
Roy Savery picked up a silver.
